Did you know that in Roman times the palm was a symbol of triumph?  Branches of the palm were given as gifts to champions of games and war.  Not only is this species of tree hardy, resilient and sturdy, but they also represent peace, prosperity and welcome.

For me, transferring to Florida was a life long dream. Choosing the palm initially, was an ode to my love of tropical gardens, landscapes overgrown with giant elephant ears and vibrant unique flowers only found near the coast. After diving in deeper around this amazing resilient species of tree, I realized that it stood for so much of my past, my present and what I envision my future to be.

It’s a reminder that even in the strongest of storms, the palm will bend itself to withstand high winds, swaying back and forth through heavy rains, but always remains tall, triumphant, reaching to new heights year after year and provides a peaceful beauty as the sun peeks out through its branches. It represents my commitment to myself, my family and my ability to grow, develop and stand tall, always remembering peace, prosperity and welcome as benchmarks of how to live.
